Feeling a bit witchie today, are we? Good! August is the month to focus on abundance!
As the harvest season begins, focus on rituals centered around abundance, prosperity, and gratitude for the things that you already have. Hang bunches of freshly harvested herbs in your kitchen or create altars around your home with fruits, vegetables, nuts and other harvest-related items so that everytime you pass them by, you can send up a gratitude prayer thus attracting even more blessings (be sure to hide a coin or dollar bill or some other representation of money in among the harvest if you are in need of material wealth). And don't forget to work nature into your spellcrafting. It will make it infinitely more powerful! August is a time to give thanks for the abundance of the land and the crops. Common practices include baking bread, making corn husk dolls with aprons and hiding a secret wish in one of its pockets, planting seed spells that will mature before the first frost and sharing the first fruits of the harvest. Look to the night sky in mid-August for the Perseid Meteor Shower for it is a magical event for making wishes and connecting with the Universe. The Fire Spells you did in July can be continued this month for the sun's energy is exceeding strong, making it an ideal time for sun-related rituals, too. Honor the sun by making objects that help you decorate your office. So Much Moon Magic this month! Lucky us! There are two full moons this August! Create Moon Water on the night of the full Sturgeon Moon (August 1st) by filling a pure white or crystal bowl with water, adding a pinch of Sea Salt and setting it out overnight so it can absorb the moon's spiritual magic. It will come in handy when you spellcraft during the hot August weeks ahead. It will also let you to connect with the element of water which will keep you cool and clear-headed should there be turbulent times. Moon water can be very beneficial in putting out the 'heat' of an angry adversary. If someone is making your life miserable, metaphorically douse them with moon water while 'seeing' their anger fizzle out. To enhance your focus, find a photo of the person or make a doll out of sticks that represents them, set it ablaze (outside, of course!), then douse it with moon water. While you are doing that, tell them that you forgive them and 'harbor no ill well against them'. Remember, always manifest good energy, not evil. It has been proven that there is infinitely more good energy in this world than evil and you want to summon as much positive energy as you can when manifesting what you want. Other ways to connect with the two full moons is to take a ritual bath, visit a nearby lake or river and express gratitude and love for the water's life-giving cooling properties. On August 30th, there will be a blue moon. This particular blue moon is a Super Blue Moon because it will be the closest full moon to earth in 2023! Thus it will be a spectacular time to make Moon Water and for focusing your intentions! Blue Moons are a rare occurance, a 'once in a blue moon' opportunity, so use them to your advantage. On the night of the August Blue Moon, sit outside and light a white candle while focusing your energy on your goals, dreams or matters of the heart. Write down what you want on a piece of paper, visualize it clearly, and then burn the paper and release your intentions to the universe. Then douse your burning paper with Moon Water or watch it burn out while maintaining your visualization. Make sure you spellcraft for at least 10 minutes for maximum effect. Afterwards, give thanks and go to bed imagining the wonderful thing(s) that are about to happen to you, feeling in your soul that what you asked for is in the cards. And, speaking of cards, this month we are going to talk about how to use Tarot Cards to help guide you and give you insight into what to ask for. Manifesting with Tarot Cards
Using Tarot cards to guide you while manifesting is a popular practice among those who believe in the power of Tarot. Tarot is a tool for self-reflection and insight and can help you figure out what you truly want. Here are some steps to follow to incorporate Tarot into your spellcasting:
Select a Tarot card deck that resonates with you. There are numerous decks available, each with its own artwork and symbolism. One such deck is available on Amazon (at right), but you can find them everywhere, even in thrift stores. The most powerful Tarots are ones you inherit from someone in your family who used them for positive divining. Whichever deck you choose, choose it because it speaks to you on a personal level. Hold them in your hand and meditate on the energy coming from them. Soon you will be able to determine if it is good energy or bad.
Once you have found your Deck, cleanse it and connect with it. Cleanse it and remove any lingering negative energies that might have been absorbed into the cards. Do this by smudging your cards with Sage or leaving them outside overnight under a full moon. Once cleansed, spend some time connecting with the deck by shuffling the cards and holding them close to your heart. Keep them by your bed at night so they will absorb your dreams and wishes.
When you are ready to ask the Tarot for clarity, find a lovely, quiet place where you are alone and think about what you want while shuffling the cards. Continue to shuffle them until you feel ready to ask your questions, then draw a card randomly from the deck. Trust any 'gut feeling' that comes over you, then look at your card and interpret its meaning in the context of your desire or what you want to manifest. This might take some time, so take notes with each card you draw. They might be bringing up both positive and negative aspects of what you want. Don't rush it! Each Tarot card has various layers of symbolism and interpretation, so consider both the traditional meanings and your personal insights. Refer to the instructions that come with the cards (or search the internet) for typical meanings. Above all, trust your instincts!
Your last step will be to take Inspired Action: Tarot cards can provide guidance, but it is essential that you take action toward your desires. Based on the insights gained from the cards, identify practical steps that you can take to move you closer to your goal. Use Tarot cards for manifesting regularly, perhaps drawing a card each day or week to gain insight and stay focused on your desires. Remember, focus, consistency, dedication and gratitude for what you are about to receive are the keys to successful manifesting!

Welcome to Witchiepedia. Everyone feels a bit 'witchie' from time to time. Why not use those random moods to your advantage? Pagan practices have been around for thousands of years and there are usually scientific or practical reasons behind each one of them. They were used to forecast planting seasons and harvests, pray for rain, set intentions, pray for protection and heal the sick. The darker forms of Pagan magic were even used to punish enemies. But the overriding reason for spellcrafting was to help one stay in control of one's fate, because early humans lived in a very scary world. All Magic Is Targeted Thought! With the benefit of hindsight, we now know that what was historically called witchcraft was actually targeted thought that used the method of casting spells to help witches focus on what they wanted to manifest. That's why the practice was called 'the craft'. Books like The Secret have now brought the idea of manifesting and consciously focusing your thoughts into the mainstream. Witchiepedia hopes to do the same by shining a bright light on all kinds of practical spellcasting methods that will help you focus on what you want long enough to see results. We will explore things that work and things that don't. We will find out why spellcasting was called 'a witch's craft' and is still considered evil in some parts of the world today. We will investigate why some practitioners of targeted thought call themselves witches while others call themselves motivational speakers. The goal of Witchiepedia is to dispell the myths and make targeted thought fun and easy so you can learn how to craft spells that help you focus so you can become amazing at manifesting your best life.
